It plays a vital role in the medical field in determining the abnormalities of a particular organ. Radiology is nothing but obtaining images from human body using the appropriate equipments. Apart from usage in medicine field, it is used widely for security purposes. For example it can be used to check the uniqueness of a person by checking the thumb impression. In the medicine field, there are many radiation technologies to check for abnormalities of an organ. A radiology technician who is involved in taking images of the human body is called a radiologist technician.

A radiologist may work either as a technician or as a physician depending on the academic qualification. One can become a radiologist technician on completion of high school and applying as a technician or as an associate degree. One can become a physician in radiology on successful completion of bachelor’s degree in medicine and continuing studies as a radiologist which might be either a diploma or a degree. A radiology technician’s duty is to take images and send them to the physician confidentially whereas a radiologist learns and works with the latest technologies. Both of them work in hospital, clinic and other organizations.

A medical radiologist technician learns the basics of the technologies like x-ray, CT scan and MRI. X-ray’s are nothing but passing of UV rays on the target organ. The image of the organ is pictured on a film and washed in special conditions to get the final result. Sometimes the technician writes comments on the obtained image and reports them to the physician. The technician works in accordance with the physician to obtain the image. He also learns about the safety measures involved in exposing the patients to radiation. A technician updates himself about the recent trends in radiology to gain knowledge in the recent technologies.
