A Radiologist is a physician (bachelors degree, medical school, and at least 5 years of residency),which is not to be confused with a radiology tech. A Radiologist’s salary is anywhere from approximately $250,000 to some private practitioners making over $1,000,000.
This blog is about the Radiology technologist, not Radiologist. Those terms are not interchangeable. Once again, radiologists are physicians. These salaries posted on this blog are those of technologists.
I am have a RT (R) (MR) and these numbers are completely wrong. X-ray techs or Radiologic Technologists make 35,000 to 45,000 starting and up to 60,000 or more with several years of experience. You can get a degree in a 2 year school just like a nursing degree. These guys shoot X-rays, for example when you get a chest x-ray or break you arm and have to get an x-ray after going in to the ER. Radiologist make 250,000 to 600,000 and are physicians that have completed medical school and done additional training after the standard residency. You must be top of your class just like orthopedic surgeons or neurosurgeons would.
