Radiology is a field of medicine which involves the study of different type of imaging equipments. A technician who is proficient in taking images for detecting abnormalities in the particular organ using the different equipments is called a radiologist. The technician mostly works in private hospitals or may have his own office. The technician also excels in operating equipments like CT scan, MRI equipment and ultrasound equipment. To become a radiology technician one has to undergo the radiology technician programs offered by many hospitals, universities and other technical institutions. One has to have a bachelor’s degree in any science subject.

There are different radiology technician programs and one may choose the one which will help one to build a strong career. The radiology technician certificate is a 2 year course. This course enlightens students about safety procedures when handling radiology equipments, ethics in health care, patients care and safety and usage of scanning and radiology equipments. After completion of the course students has to appear for the board exam and clear the examination for qualifying as a radiology technician.

To apply for the associate degree in radiology, the students must have completed high school diploma and should have good scores in English, mathematics and science. In this associate degree the candidate learns about different radiological procedures needed for performing the diagnostic tests. They also learn about clinical radiology, how to maintain the radiological machines and positioning of the patients. After the completion of the course, the students go for on job training where they specialize in MRI and CT equipments.
