Radiology is the study of different types of imaging devices and their working. X-ray and scan are the most common devices used to screen the patients. There are many advanced equipments which can produce clarity image and can even detect the exact location of foreign bodies. A radiologist is one who masters in working these images to obtain clear images of the organ to be radiographed. The physician uses these images to treat the patients. There are many radiation technician colleges which offer various courses in radiology. In order to become a radiologist, a physician has to graduate form a medical school.

A radiologist must have must have passed the board exam and register as a medical practitioner at the American Board of Radiology. The radiation technician colleges provides many sub specialty courses like breast imaging, cardiovascular radiology, chest radiology, emergency radiology gastro intestinal radiology and head and neck radiology. A Breast imaging radiologist deals with the imaging of diseases in the breast. The various equipments used for imaging the breast are mammography, breast MRI and ultrasound. Cardiovascular radiology deals with the imaging of the diseases in heart and blood vessels. X-rays, CT, ultrasound and MRI are used for diagnosing diseases related to the heart.

Emergency radiology is used for imaging in trauma conditions. X-ray, CT scan, ultrasound and MRI are the diagnostic procedures used in emergency conditions. Chest Radiology deals with the diagnostic procedures related to the heart and lungs. The procedure includes x-rays, MRI, ultrasound, lung biopsy and draining fluid from the chest. Gastro intestinal radiology is used for imaging and diagnosing the gastrointestinal disorders. A radiation technician college offers many such different courses with good lab facilities for practical learning. The college has professors who are proficient in radiology and can provide the students a good learning experience.
